Documentary short films, children's chorus, on-site interviews, and poetry reading performances were staged at the Huafa & CPAA Grand Theater in Shizimen on Dec 14 during the Excellence Recommendation Gala of Chinese Documentary Film Festival, paying tribute to Chinese documentary filmmakers.

There were 57 outstanding documentary films that participated in the Chinese documentary film collection, and have acquired permission for public release. Of the participants, 20 were finalists for the Recommended Documentary Film category, and another 14 were finalists for the Recommended Documentary Film in a Single Sector category.

The list of award winners was announced during the gala. Among them is Endless Climb, which won the Recommended Nature Film award. 

An outdoor filming event was also held at the square of the Zhuhai Opera House, which selected historical images of Zhuhai and Macao from the 1950s to 1990s. They vividly showcased the rapid development and changes that have taken place in the two cities.
