Chinese documentary film makers advised to keep pace with new era
Professional experts, newly prominent documentary film directors, representatives of film culture and distribution agencies were invited to attend the Dec 13 themed forum regarding the inaugural Chinese Documentary Film Festival in Zhuhai.
Pressing issues of the challenges, opportunities, innovation and development of documentary films in the new era were discussed by attendees, who shared their wisdom about the prosperous growth of the Chinese documentary film industry.

The representatives noted that the Chines film market has been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and has also faced pressure from the slow revival of the industry and the influence of internet new media.
Chinese documentary film makers were advised to find topics that satisfy the era, the whole film industry, and audiences' diversified cultural demands.
The forum was hosted by the Central Newsreel & Documentary Film Studio, Publicity Department of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee, and China Film Association (CFA). Zhuhai Media Group and CFA's Documentary Film Committee handled it locally.
