Jiuzhou Ave to be upgraded with less traffic lights
The Zhuhai Municipal Development and Reform Bureau has recently approved the 30-month construction plan for the Qianshan Interchange-Xingye Express section of Jiuzhou Avenue. This plan was approved after extensive research was put into a feasibility study report.
The project will reduce the number of traffic lights for vehicles going straight and will improve overall transportation efficiency. Upon operation, the avenue's main line will have a designated speed of 60 kmph (38 mph).
The construction section will start from the Qianshan Interchange in the west and end on Bailian Road in the east, where it connects with the south section of the upcoming Xingye Express.

The dual six lanes of Jiuzhou Avenue will go over Baishi Road as an overpass and there will be dual four-lane ramp roads below to let vehicles turn on to Baishi Road.
Two lanes will be added to North Guihua Road, while traffic lights at the intersection of Jianye No 3 Road will be removed. Several new pedestrian overpasses will also be built.
Jiuzhou Avenue will become a tunnel, while the Xingye Express will run over it.
It is expected that the project will further improve the traffic conditions, reduce travel time between major areas in Gongbei, and bring more convenience to drivers.
