Nanping Specialized, Elaborative, Characteristic, and Emerging Industrial Park, an industry 5.0 space project in Zhuhai's Xiangzhou District, broke ground on Nov 26 at the Baishatou area of Nanping Science & Technology Industrial Park.

The 500-million-yuan ($69-million) project will occupy an area of 35,000 sqm (8.6 acres) and have floorage of 114,000 sqm (28 acres). 

Scheduled to begin operation at the end of 2023, the project is expected to introduce and cultivated 20 Specialized, Elaborative, Characteristic, and Emerging enterprises, as well as one to two listed enterprises, aiming to achieve a total annual output value of 5 billion yuan ($694 million).

The park will focus on the three leading industries of home appliances, intelligent manufacturing equipment, as well as office automation and printing supplies. It will also develop the strategic emerging industries of integrated circuits, biomedicine, and new generation information technology.

Nanping Science & Technology Industrial Park has been devoting continuous efforts to cultivating Specialized, Elaborative, Characteristic, and Emerging enterprises. It is home to 80 of such enterprises that have received this title at the national, provincial, and municipal levels, accounting more than 60 percent of Xiangzhou's total.

The total industrial output value of Nanping Science & Technology Industrial Park increased by 12.42 percent to 90.42 billion yuan ($12.55 billion) in the first 10 months of 2022, while its added value of industries increased by 17.1 percent to 31.07 billion yuan ($4.3 billion).

It is expected that the park's total industrial output value will exceed 120 billion yuan ($17 billion) by year end, with a year-on-year growth of more than 15 percent. The total value is projected to exceed 135 billion yuan ($19 billion) in 2023, offering strong and solid support for Xiangzhou's high-quality real economic development.
