The Dalin Community of Hongqi Town in Zhuhai's Jinwan District, together with its distinctive yellow-fin bream, was named as a National "One Village, One Product" demonstration site, according to the Nov 1 list released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

The Dalin Community is the main production area for yellow-fin bream in Jinwan and enjoys unique advantages, as it has a well-developed irrigation ditch network. 

At present, it has a total aquaculture water area of more than 6,000 mu (400 hectares, 988 acres) with an annual yield of over 6,000 metric tons worth 300 million yuan ($41 million). More than 300 people in the community are engaged in the yellow-fin bream aquaculture industry.

The community was the first of its kind to win the provincial "One Village, One Product" demonstration site title in 2021. 

Moreover, Dalin Community and Zhaoxin Village of Doumen's Baijiao Town were also included in the 2022 national list of villages whose distinctive industries achieve total output value of more than 1 billion yuan ($14 million).

Zhaoxin Village located at the Xijiang River estuary area has dense water networks, fish ponds, and favorable water conditions, making it a famous sea bass farming base. Statistics show that more than 70 percent of Baijiao Sea Bass countrywide comes from the village.

The village's Baijiao Sea Bass industry recorded 338 million yuan ($46 million) in profits early in 2017 and continuous efforts have been made to turn the village into a demonstration village featuring modern agriculture.

It entered the national listing as a "One Village, One Product" demonstration site in 2018 and received merits for its Baijiao Sea Bass industry with an annual output worth at least 1 billion yuan for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021.
