Concrete pouring on the 400-m (437-yd) rigid frame bridge section of the Jinhai Avenue Bridge near Hezhou Island was completed on Oct 21 and the bridge's section over the Modaomen Waterway is moving forward auxiliary facility construction.

The 11.2-km (7-mile) bridge connecting Hengqin and Jinwan spans over the Modaomen and Baiteng River waterways, as well as Hezhou Island. A double-track railway, with a designated speed limit of 160 kmph (99.5 mph), runs through the middle of the bridge with three two-way traffic lanes, with a maximum speed limit of 100 kmph (62 mph), running along each side of the track.

It applies different structures and styles according to force bearing and shipping requirements in different areas. The 400-m rigid frame bridge section is located west of the four-tower cable-stayed bridge over the Modaomen Waterway and the largest span of this section is 180 m (197 yds) long.

Upon operation in 2023, the Jinhai Avenue Bridge will help Zhuhai form an intercity railway artery passage and shorten the travel distance between Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport and Gongbei.
