Interior decoration of Zhuhai airport terminal to begin in 2023
Construction on the renovation and expansion project of Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport continues, with interior decoration work on the airport's Terminal II expected to start next year, gearing up for the terminal's scheduled operation in 2024.
Currently, the installation of curtain walls is more than 60 percent done while work on metal roofs at the airport's Terminal II is 75 completed. The two parts are estimated to be finished before the upcoming Spring Festival, which will fall on Jan 22, 2023.

Terminal II will have total floorage of 191,000 sqm (47 acres), which is twice the size of the current Terminal I. Twenty-eight aprons will also be built in the project. Upon operation, Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport is expected to handle 198,000 flights, 27.5 million passengers, as well as 104,000 tons of cargo and mail annually.
Work on other projects, such as the Zhuhai Airport Comprehensive Transportation Hub, Phase II of the Airport Urban Rail Transit, and Zhuhai Airport International Intelligent Logistics Park, is accelerating. Once operational, they will significantly increase the airport's capacity and help formulate a global airport cluster in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
