The Marriage Registry of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, which is located on the fifth floor of Hengqin Grand MixC by the Tianmu River, unveiled its plaque on Oct 8.

Hengqin residents now no longer need to travel far away to the Xiangzhou Marriage Registry in Xiangshan Lake Park for marriage registry services, avoiding the difficulty in making reservations at the Xiangzhou Marriage Registry, which has resulted from a surging workload due to the continuous rise in its registered population.

The 1,161-sqm (12,497 sqft) registry has eight service counters and other areas dedicated to functions like pre-marriage counseling, license issuing, as well as physical examinations. It is open 9 am to noon and 2 to 6 pm Monday to Friday, except on public holidays.

Couples that have at least one person with permanent residence in Zhuhai or who have a valid Hengqin residence permit from the Chinese mainland are able to make reservations for services like marriage and divorce registration, license reissuing, as well as document queries.
