Zhuhai set to be new GBA engine in livestreaming e-commerce
Zhuhai will become a distinctive city in developing the livestreaming e-commerce economy in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by 2025, according to the implementation plan on promoting the high-quality livestreaming e-commerce economy in Zhuhai recently released by the Zhuhai Bureau of Commerce.
The city will have a livestreaming e-commerce industrial park with an annual sales volume of over 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion) and several others with an annual sales volume of over 1 billion yuan ($141 million). Fifty key enterprises managing the sector, as well as 2,000 anchors will be introduced and cultivated in Zhuhai, helping to increase the annual sales volume of Zhuhai-based enterprises to over 50 billion yuan ($7 billion).

Xiangzhou District and the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan) will give full play to their advantages in human resources and commercial supporting facilities to formulate livestreaming e-commerce industrial clusters with market influence in Hong Kong, Macao, as well as west Guangdong Province.
Jinwan District will forge a new cross-border e-commerce model featuring bonded warehouse livestreaming rooms on the basis of Gaolan Port Integrated Bonded Zone, while Hezhou area will make full use of its abundant cross-border e-commerce export channels to pave a new path in livestreaming facing the Hong Kong and Macao markets.

The document noted that enterprises will be supported to expand sales channels via livestreaming and a batch of Zhuhai cyber celebrity industry belts will be formed, such as "livestreaming + home appliances," "livestreaming + printing supplies," and "livestreaming + Doumen sea bass," striving to increase the market share of Zhuhai's advantageous, branded, as well as high-quality products.
Zhuhai IPs showcasing the city's two main connotations for being a new economic and trade passage with the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and coastal garden city will be built together with influential livestreaming anchors, MCN institutes, as well as livestreaming platforms.
The cultural tourism, catering, accommodation, business service, and agriculture industries will undergo transformation to be more digital, social, visual, as well as intelligent. New consumption scenarios, such as the ones integrating livestreaming and tourism, business circles, night economy, as well as agriculture, will be created, bringing a strong commercial atmosphere for developing the livestreaming industry.
