The 2022 Greater Bay Area Service Trade Conference is scheduled to take place at the Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center in Shizimen in December, announced Li Chong, deputy mayor of Zhuhai, on Sept 1.

The Guangdong Theme Day of the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services was held that day in Beijing, attracting over 200 attendees, including officials of the Ministry of Commerce and People's Government of Guangdong Province, as well as representatives of domestic prestigious enterprises, universities, and media outlets.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has become a major growth pole for driving China's high-quality service trade development as the volume of the GBA's service trade in 2021 accounted for 53.85 percent of China's total and 25.14 percent of China's foreign trade, 13.19 percentage points higher than that of the Chinese mainland. 

This year's GBA Service Trade Conference will boost a 25,000-sqm (6.2-acre) exhibition area, focusing on the latest development features of industries spanning digital trade, digital exhibitions, cross-border e-commerce, animation and e-sports, traditional Chinese medicine services, art auctions, housekeeping services, as well as catering services.

In addition, one main and several specialized sub-forums will be held, with domestic and overseas scholars, experts, and industrial elites invited to discuss pressing issues in digital trade, cross-border e-commerce, intelligent manufacturing, TCM services, as well as service outsourcing.

Product releases, road shows, business talks, and lectures will also be organized as supporting activities for this year's event to open more trade channels for enterprises.

Currently, nearly 80 percent of the conference's registration has been completed and several famous enterprises, such as Huawei, Tencent, Ant Group, and PWC, have confirmed their attendance.

Guangdong Province was the Guest of Honor at the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services and brought a 240-sqm (2,583-sqft) on-site exhibition booth to the event, while the Zhuhai delegation was formed by nearly 100 representatives of 18 enterprises, setting a record high.
