The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin will host a variety of dazzling performances and interesting activities, such as firework shows, light and water shows, as well as public training activities on culture and sports in the rest of the year, according to the Cooperation Zone Livelihood Affairs Bureau.

Aiming to forge a sustainable cultural tourism brand under mutual cooperation, the Cooperation Zone and Macao will join hands to create Hengqin-Macao cross-boundary firework shows that will be staged during the upcoming National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7. Two discharge points will be set up in the water areas of Zhuhai and Macao respectively while reasonable design and arrangements will be made to ensure that the fireworks discharged at the two sites correspond with each other.

Meanwhile, light and water shows will be held on the Tianmu River during holidays. It will feature elements of Hengqin-Macao cooperation, while using light and shadow effects, as well as hi-end technologies to enrich Hengqin residents' cultural lives and create a strong local cultural atmosphere.

Four taichi training courses, each containing 12 lessons, will be opened to Hengqin residents at Hengqin Cultural Station, Lianhua Community Service Center, Xinjiayuan Senior Care Service Center, and Xiaohengqin Community Service Center. In addition, residents will be able to apply for public training courses on pickleball, yoga, and coffee making. 

The Cooperation Zone Livelihood Affairs Bureau is now also planning to organize various kinds of cultural events, such as the Hengqin Tianmu River Grassland Music Festival and badminton competitions, to inject new vitality into Hengqin's development with art and sports.
