The miniature coaxial twin-rotor UAV independently developed by Zhuhai-based Xuanji Tech won a first prize of the manufacturing group in the Guangdong Trial Final of the 5th China Chuangyi Entrepreneurship & Innovation Competition, which was held in Guangzhou on July 19.

The Guangdong Trial of the competition was launched in April and attracted nearly 1,600 creative entrepreneurship projects with market prospects. Among them, 63 were selected to participate in the final road show and 16 stood out to compete on the national stage of the competition, representing Guangdong Province.

Xuanji's award-winning helicopter, shaped like a bamboo-copter, was developed after five years of research and development, according to Dong Xia, the enterprise's founder. 

The drone is the first cylindrical modularization flying platform in China and is currently a pioneer globally. It has tackled the bottleneck problem of the flight duration of UAVs. Compared with multi-rotor UAVs at the same level, the one made by Xuanji has double the flight duration capability, while also having outstanding performances of low noise and easy portability. 

The 5th China Chuangyi Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition is a national contest held by parties including the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, National Development & Reform Commission, as well as National Administration for Rural Vitalization.
