The Zhuhai division of the 11th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition is now open for applications on its official website through June 30, officials of the Zhuhai Science & Technology Innovation Bureau announced on May 11.

 Applicants should be non-listed enterprises, with the exception of those listed on the New OTC Market. They should be registered in Zhuhai and have a maximum of 200 million yuan ($30 million) in documented operating revenue in 2021, while also boasting strong innovation capability and high growth potential. Applicants must also have undisputed intellectual properties and no bad records.

Small- and medium-sized sci-tech enterprises involved in Zhuhai's strategic emerging industries, such as new-generation information technology, new energy, integrated circuits, biomedicine and health, smart home appliances, equipment manufacturing, as well as fine chemicals, are encouraged to take part in the competition.

Divided into two groups of Start-up Enterprises and Growing Enterprises, the entrants will go through stages including registration, qualification, preliminary contest, quarter-finals, and citywide final, in which 30 winners will then be selected. Outstanding enterprises will also get access to the provincial and national stage of the competition.

Of note, an innovation and entrepreneurship subsidy of up to 1 million yuan ($148,503) will be given to municipal competition winners by district governments where they are located. More support in innovation and entrepreneurship talent, loan credit, as well as entrepreneurship services will also be available for the award-winning companies.
