The site can inspect 20 trucks to Macao per week that are carrying materials including oxygen bottles and disinfection supplies. Solutions for future additional inspection demands are also available, according to Liao Weilu of the site's constructor Zhuhai Da Heng Qin City New Center Development.
The site maintains a safe distance to residential areas with high population density. It is also adjacent to Second Hengqin Bridge which allows trucks carrying hazardous chemicals to have direct access to the Hengqin Checkpoint after passing inspection. The transport efficiency will be increased with reduced safety risks in transport.
Hezhou's preparatory group noted that it will optimize operation and management of the site to guarantee the stable supply of hazardous chemicals for Macao, ensure the closed operation of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone, and provide supporting services for Macao's social and economic development.
