It will be built over three phases, while having a "Two Wings & Three Valleys" layout. The "Two Wings" refer to phase I of the project, which focuses on residential and commercial areas, while the "Three Valleys" refer to the Artificial Intelligence and Sci-tech Innovation valleys in its phase II and Biomedicine Valley to be built in a third phase.
Phase II of Hengqin Science City is located east of Houpu Road, south of Baihe Road, west of West Huandao Road, and north of Shengzhou No 3 Road. It will become a vertical garden-style sci-tech industrial park giving priority to the development of industries like integrated circuit design, 5G, AI, cloud computing, the internet of things, as well as big data.
Altogether 27 buildings with five to 41 floors will be constructed, with each building boasting a two-story basement. Among them, nine are super high-rise buildings. Two apartment buildings with over 1,200 dormitories of 30 to 80 sq m (323 to 861 sq ft) will be built, as well as one expert's apartment building with 140 units spanning between 30 to 210 sq m (323 to 2,260 sq ft).
The industrial park will boast restaurants, gyms, and commercial areas, which will provide one-stop working, living, and leisure services for hi-tech enterprises and high-caliber talents, according to Li Shengjiang, deputy director of the Phase II project.
