Construction on Doumen's Baijiao Bridge to start in 2023
Construction on the 400-m (.25-mile) Baijiao Bridge, a fast track spanning Huangyang River in Doumen District, will start in 2023. It is expected to be a new landmark in Zhuhai's west wing upon completion.
Known as Second Jianfeng Bridge in previous plans, the span is a dual eight-lane structure with a designated speed limit of 80 km/h (50 mph). It will connect Jianfengqian Road in Jing'an Town in the west and Chengyu Village in Baijiao Town in the east. With a width of 43 m (47 yd), the bridge has two 5-m (5.5-yd) lanes on both sides for pedestrians and non-motor vehicles.

Officials from the Doumen Transport Bureau noted that the proposed bridge is wider and has a 20 percent higher designated speed limit than other structures crossing the Huangyang River, which will facilitate motorists heading toward Hezhou Railway Station.
Design of the bridge applies concise and fluent lines in the form of a double-wave and triple-arch style, incorporating Doumen cultural elements like Jianfeng Mt and the Huangyang River, according to Liu Jie, project leader at the bridge's designer Hunan Provincial Communications Planning, Survey & Design Institute.
The Baijiao Bridge is an important node for the Doumen section of North Xianghai Road, which is planned to be a part of Doumen's "Eight Horizontal &Eight Vertical" skeleton road network. The section will connect North Airport Road and the Jiangmen-Zhuhai expressway to bring more convenient transportation to local residents.
