The 2.5-billion-yuan ($393.8-million) Liando U Valley Digital Smart Manufacturing Industrial Park started construction on March 11 at Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan), just merely a month after it settled in the zone in February.

Liando U Valley Digital Smart Manufacturing Industrial Park occupies an 83.1-mu (13.7-acre) area at the Technological Innovation Coast near Zhuhai North Station and its Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) project. With floor area of 230,000 sq m (57 acres), the valley will introduce companies involved in the smart manufacturing, high-end equipment, and precision instrument industries. It will strive to formulate an influential sci-tech innovative platform featuring digital economy and serving as a benchmark for industrial parks in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Specifically, the valley aims to introduce over 100 companies in smart manufacturing industrial chains, as well as more than two listed companies, 20 hi-tech enterprises, and 30 companies above designated size.

Headquartered in Beijing, Liando U Valley is the core enterprise of Liandong Group. It has invested in and operated 350 industrial parks in 73 cities across the country, as well as introduced more than 13,000 emerging manufacturing companies and technology companies. The enterprise serves emerging industries and promotes the development of advanced manufacturing and sci-tech technologies. It has topped the China's Industrial Park Brand Value list for 10 consecutive years.

Liang Huanyu, executive vice-president of Liandong Group, noted that the industrial park will fully utilize Tangjiawan's advantages in location, industries, policies, and innovative resources to support Zhuhai's efforts in becoming a modernized and internationalized special economic zone.

The Hi-Tech Zone is currently in a key period for economic quality improvement and upgrading, and a number of high-quality projects in Tangjiawan will bolster its innovative vitality, said Wang Xiaobin, director of the zone's administrative committee.
