Doumen-made prefabricated tents serve Beijing Winter Olympics
Over 30 Zhuhai-made prefabricated tents with a total area of more than 10,000 sq m (2.5 acres) are used at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics as temporary sites for lounges, restaurants, press conference halls, media centers, and parking garages.
The white tents are produced and maintained by Doumen-based Liri Architecture Technology (Guangdong). Being easily assembled and disassembled with little construction waste, they adhere to the concept of "Green Olympics."

The roof of the tents is made of a 75-mm glass wool layer wrapped by two layers of PVC tarpaulin. The walls are stabilized with side sealing and a center made of A-level rock wool with a density of 120 kg per cubic meter. The floors are made of a combination of light gauge steel joist, 75-mm glass wool, two layers of plywood, and loop pile carpet.
With the support of purlins, expansions screws, steel chisels, and professional bearing system, the tents can stand temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius (-4F), resist snow piling on the roofs and consistent piercing winds, and preserve heat indoors.
All tents are well-equipped with water and power supply, heating and communication systems, central ventilation, and fire hazard protection. They also support electrical screens, sound systems, air conditioners, and lighting.
Design, manufacturing, transportation, and on-site installation of the tents took more than four months and were fully completed by the end of December 2021, according to the person in charge, Feng Weichao.
A technical team was dispatched to provide follow-up daily maintenance services during the Winter Olympics and Paralympics to ensure normal operation.
Established in Doumen in 1997, Liri Architecture Technology is now a domestic pioneer in modular structures with products exported to over 120 countries and regions.
