Performing arts & cultural center to be built in Doumen
A future Doumen Performing Arts & Cultural Center will be built at a 145,600-sqm (36-acre) land area, according to a public bidding invitation posted Feb 11 on the Zhuhai Public Resource Trading Center website.
The plot is located at the east of Dongcheng Avenue and north of Huangyang Avenue in Doumen Town. The starting price for bidding is 62 million yuan ($10 million).

The overall design of the arts & cultural center, required to be approved by the local government, will include an entrance, a tourist service center, rain-forest-themed atrium, conventional center, science and technology museum, hotel, and underground public facilities.
The project will help turn the upcoming Zhuhai Songcheng Performance Park in Doumen into a world-class tourist attraction for performance entertainment. The park will build 22 theaters and performance venues which will offer 35 shows simultaneously to more than 30,000 spectators. Also included are leisure facilities such as themed cultural blocks, parent-child experience zones, and a hotel cluster.
The construction of the Songcheng Performance Park is one of Doumen's recent efforts in brand building such as "China's most beautiful rural tourist destination." It is now moving forward with highly integrated development of local primary, secondary, and tertiary industries as a demonstration zone for rural revitalization. Two major rural sightseeing belts will be built in Doumen and Lianzhou towns.
