Crews were completing pedestrian underpass work, landscaping, and traffic safety projects Nov 24 as the Yingbin Feeder of Xingye Express Road entered the final stage of construction.

Asphalt paving and lighting have been completed for tunnels and viaducts along the new passage between New Xiangzhou and the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan). Paving and street lights of the tunnel and viaduct sections have been finished and sound barriers are in place along the overpass.

The 1.7-km (1-mile) Yingbin Feeder will open to traffic at an undisclosed date. It is a two-way four-lane road with a designed speed limit of 60 kmph (37 mph). Seven km (4 miles) north of Gongbei Checkpoint, it will allow for efficient travel from Gongbei and New Xiangzhou to Tangjiawan and the Jinding area.

The overpass at Dajingshan Community Park is 9 meters (30 ft) high to reduce noise and inconveniences. The overpass has a concealed gutter system to keep the roadway clear. An anti-slip surface with colored warnings at the tunnel entrance and exit plus anti-glare light strips inside the tunnel provide more safety.

To assure normal operations of Shixi Park, micro-vibration blasting was conducted during construction. Nearby, pedestrian underpasses with elevators are located close to Meihua Road for access between Shixi Park and Children's Park and there are emergency pedestrian crossings in the 900-meter (2,953-ft) tunnel.

The Y-shaped north section of Xingye Express Road runs from Tangle and Hagongda roads in Tangjiawan to the Fenghuang Mt Tunnel. A north-south express road with no traffic lights, it will cut travel time between Xiangzhou and Tangjiawan to 15 minutes once operational.
