A "Melody of Friendship" concert was staged online Nov 12 by youths from Zhuhai in the Pearl River Delta and Braunschweig in Lower Saxony, Germany to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the sister cities. 

Dances, solos, choruses, and symphonies were broadcast on ZHTV and Guanhai App, marking Zhuhai's first international concert to be held online. It also aired stories of Zhuhai-Braunschweig friendship and Zhuhai's charm as a City of Vigor & Youth.

A dance, chorus, guzheng (zither), and symphony performances by Zhuhai youths highlighted Chinese culture, and Guangdong characteristics. Braunschweig troupes presented their history and vitality via oboe and flute, a chorus and symphony.

The concert concluded with "Auld Lang Syne" to commemorate past, present, and future friendships between Zhuhai and Braunschweig.

Ulrich Markurth, lord mayor of the City of Braunschweig, and Li Chong, deputy mayor of Zhuhai, each sent congratulation videos reviewing friendly exchanges and prospects for future cooperation.

Situated in medieval Germany, Braunschweig has a profound history and is the birthplace of the prestigious Mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss. It has become a transportation hub for Berlin and Hamburg and center of scientific research.

For a decade, close communication was made regarding economy, culture, education, and medicine. Sincere friendship and support were also expressed during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 when the mayors exchanged letters of sympathy.
