Hengqin seeks high-caliber talents at Chimelong summit
High-caliber talent and innovation teams will attend the 2021 China Postdoctoral Innovation & Development (Hengqin) Summit on Nov 20 to support development of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone.
Previously known as the National Postdoctoral Academic Forum, the event has been held in Hengqin for five consecutive years. Themed "Wisdom Converges in Hengqin," it has attracted 3,600 doctorate holders, postdoctoral researchers, academicians, and management talents since its inception in 2016. This year's venue is Chimelong Hengqin Bay Hotel.
The summit will host a national postdoctoral academic forum on the new ecology of artificial intelligence, seminar on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and industry-university-research innovation, joint conference for the Macao Young Scholars Program, and matchmaking events.

Among attendees are: Li Shipeng of the Eurasian Academy of Sciences and IEEE Fellow, Liu Ning of the School of Intelligent Systems Science & Engineering of Jinan University, Zhang Haitao of the School of Artificial Intelligence & Automation of Huazhong University of Science & Technology, Shao Zhenfeng of Wuhan University, and Luo Tao of Cambricon.
The Hengqin Postdoctoral Research Station, set up in December 2015, gained approval in March 2017 to independently recruit and train postdocs. Since then, it has enlisted 100 postdocs, added two research stations, and established 12 branches at local companies and nine innovation practice bases spanning sectors of computer software, electronics, "smart cities," TCM and healthcare, financial investment, and high-tech R&D.
The second session of the Macao Young Scholars Program joint conference will also convene during the event, which was first held in Hengqin in 2018. Under the program, domestic doctorates are appointed to Macao universities and scientific research institutions for a two-year research project in TCM, microelectronics, lunar and planetary research, and "Smart City" Internet of Things.
The postdocs will visit 20 local scientific research projects in Hengqin. These cover medicine, big data, biotechnology, and ocean remote sensing. Platforms will be established for docking and exchanges between post doctorates and enterprises and universities to help companies achieve technological breakthroughs and promote innovative industrial development.
