Hengqin cooperative tourism offers Golden Week to love
The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin is well-prepared to treat National Day holiday revelers from Oct 1 to 7 with theme park activities, photo exhibitions, culinary delicacies, and park sceneries.
The popular national theme park Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort will stage an upgraded performance of Ocean Resistance on Oct 1. Its National Day Limited Edition will have star-shaped fireworks, 170 unmanned aerial vehicles, lights, fountains, laser projections, and fire effects.

Lionsgate Entertainment World, the first of its kind in Asia to offer film-themed immersive entertainment, will roll out the new Hollywood IP La La Land, which is described as a cinematic treasure.
South China's first National Geographic Ultimate Explorer will allow family visitors to explore the moon and universe through high-end sci-tech entertainment facilities. In addition, the National Geographic Photo Ark will add a dedicated exhibition area to relate Zhuhai's continuous protection of marine species. Many of the works will be on display for the first time. A 7-by-10-m (23-by-33-ft) portrait of the northern white rhinoceros, jointly created by event participants, will grace the atrium of Novotown's west zone.
The Macao International Cultural & Food Festival will once again bring hundreds of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area culinary delicacies to Legend Ponto Square across from Hengqin Checkpoint. The Oct 5 finals of the Hengqin & Macao Singing Competition will accompany the food fest.
Nature lovers can visit 66-hectare (163-acre) Hengqin Mangzhou Wetland Park to experience wetland and wildlife sights, cycling, boating, and a marine ecological restoration exhibition. Furthermore, a cheerleading flash mob will be staged Oct 1.
Nearby Flower Corridor on North Qinhai Road stretches from the Hengqin Bridge to Mangzhou Wetland Park along the Modaomen Waterway and is planted with floss silk (ceiba speciosa), kapok (delonix regia), and flame trees to bloom all year round.
Out-of-town travelers can reach Hengqin Island from Shenzhen's Shekou Port by water in 90 minutes. Hengqin Ferry Terminal has six routes to Dong'ao, Wanshan, Wailingding, and Guishan islands, which are reachable within 30 minutes.
Visitors can also choose a 90-minute sea tour of Hengqin Bay to admire the University of Macau campus, Lotus Bridge, Venetian Macao Resort Hotel, Broadway Macao, Hengqin International Financial Center, and Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center.
