800,000 holidaymakers observe moon holiday in Zhuhai
The 812,600 travelers who spent 401 million yuan ($62 million) in Zhuhai this holiday either drove around or took sightseeing routes with parent-child, rural, revolutionary, historic, cultural, and eco-leisure themes.
As the economy continues to recover from the COVID-19 epidemic, the Sept 19-21 Mid-Autumn Festival was replete with local activities, including new ones in Jinwan, Doumen, and at sea.
For instance, Hengqin National Geographic Ultimate Explorer allowed visitors to explore the moon and the universe through high-end sci-tech entertainment facilities.

Meanwhile, Ocean Spring Resort in Jinwan District opened a Dwarfs Village that recreates scenes of the Shire in "The Hobbit" movie. Visitors could experience close encounters with cute animals in the village or at the Mid-Autumn Festival carnival on Crocodile Island in Doumen.
And a live-action light-shadow drama staged Sept 19 by Jiuzhou Holdings Group on the Lingding Sea was well received.
Statistics from a mobile big data platform show that most tourists came from other Guangdong cities such as Zhongshan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Dongguan. Most out-of-province travelers were from Hunan, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Shanghai, Henan, and Hubei. Locals also preferred to stay in Zhuhai or visit surrounding areas during the holiday.
The Zhuhai Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism & Sports Bureau dispatched 120 law enforcement staff to inspect Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Zhuhai Port and 40 cultural and tourism venues across the city to ensure epidemic prevention and control measures.
Before the viral outbreak, 961,600 tourists celebrated the 2019 Mid-Autumn Festival in Zhuhai and spent 673 million yuan ($95 million).
