Doumen plans forest healthcare-conservation attraction
A proposed base that uses a forest for healthcare and is close to Yu Wen Quan Imperial Hot Springs Resort, Ocean Spring Resort, Jintai Temple, Doumen Old Street, and Jiexia Manor, has been found feasible, reasonable, and distinctive.
The Jiangwan Mt National Forest Healthcare Base was reviewed by forest health-nutrition experts July 27. The site is next to Wushan Forest Farm in Xia Village, Qianwu Town, Doumen District. Surrounding it is forest of 30,000 mu (2,000 hectares, 4,942 acres), creeks, paddy fields, lakes, and mountains.
In China, tourists go to forest parks for relaxation, sports, healthcare, and adventure. They find them to be ideal places for relaxation, healthcare, recuperation, and experience-based study on weekends. Forest tourism is a booming industry that also provides jobs and preserves the natural environment.

The first phase for forest vacation and health tourism in Zhuhai will cover 800 mu (53 hectares, 131 acres). Planned are leisure entertainment, science promotions, sports, and ecology conservation. Customers would be healthy and sub-healthy, adolescents, pregnant women, infants and young people in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The base has an advantageous location as Zhuhai is a significant Greater Bay Area node city and part of a golden travel circle, an official said. Visitors from Macao, Jiangmen, and Zhongshan can reach it in one hour and those from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong can arrive in two hours.
Seven experts and professors from the National Innovation Alliance of the Forest Health & Nutrition of the State Forestry & Grassland Administration, Forest Health & Nutrition Branch of the China Forestry Industry Federation, and South China Agricultural and Guangzhou universities judged the overall plan after viewing a feature film and hearing a report from the compiling unit.
They agreed that there had been a comprehensive survey and analysis of the location, characteristics, advantages, natural and human resources, development foundation, and policy support.
The base is expected to become an international calling card of forest healthcare in the Greater Bay Area. And it should help integrate forest healthcare with big data industries while supporting China's ecological civilization and Healthy China and Rural Rejuvenation strategies.
