All three Zhuhai districts comprise water-saving society
Zhuhai has become the first prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province in which all municipal administrative districts meet standards for a water-conservation society.
An expert panel and working team of the Guangdong Water Conservation Office approved of Xiangzhou District's standards compliance May 26 after field investigations, debriefing, review, questioning, and scoring.

In 2019, Doumen District was selected as one of Guangdong's first 10 demonstrative counties (county-level cities and districts) for water-conservation and Jinwan, Zhuhai's third district, had passed the acceptance.
Construction of a water-conservation society is a strategic project that benefits the nation and people and is a significant promotion of sustainable development, said the person-in-charge of the Zhuhai Water Conservation Office.
The Water Conservation Office considers it of great importance in transitioning from water supply to water demand management, from extensive to efficient water use, and from excessive development of water resources to active conservation. It will also prompt changes in production modes, upgrade industrial usage, and advance supply-side structural reform.
The city plans to continue water conservation promotions, advocate high-efficiency water resource usage in all industries and sectors, make water conservation part of its socioeconomic and ecological civilization development.
