Deals signed for harmonious trade with Latin America
Agreements intending to smooth trade between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Latin American companies were signed May 18 at an exchange conference in Hengqin's China-Latin America Economic & Trade Cooperation Park.
China-Latin America Economic & Trade Cooperation Network signed a pact to cooperate with Shenzhen-based Xingyun, a cross-border e-commerce logistics provider. Zhang Yu, senior vice president of Xingyun, said this creates a new channel for bilateral trade and eases the entry of Chinese brands and commodities into Latin America.

A subsidiary of Sino-LAC Holding Group then signed a deal with BRACHAM (the Brazilian Chamber in China for Commerce, Industry & Innovation) to link supply chains for efficient and convenient trade and exchange. Fu Jie, co-founder of the group, said this further opens the Sino-Latin American supply chain and leads to more efficient and convenient trade cooperation and exchanges.
Another strategic cooperation agreement was signed with Macao AO Express.
More than 50 Brazilian and Chinese entrepreneurs at the conference were seeking breakthroughs in China-Latin America economic and trade cooperation. They discussed bilateral cooperation; the trade mission of BRACHAM; and the advantages Hengqin and Macao have in boosting commerce.
For instance, Lu Fei of Zhuhai Livzon Diagnostics favors cooperation in medical treatment by relying on the China-Latin America Economic & Trade Cooperation Network. Livzon's rapid-detection kits for coronavirus antibodies were exported to many Latin American countries last year and were highly regarded.
The event is seen as a concrete step in plans for the Greater Bay Area to support Hengqin and Macao in constructing the China-Latin America Economic & Trade Cooperation Network and increasing commodity and service trade with Hengqin International Leisure Tourism Island.
