Nanping Sci-Tech Industrial Park in Xiangzhou District will be converted into a high-quality living circle with production, living, and ecology being integrated in three years.

Covering 45.09 sqkm (17.4 sq miles), Nanping Sci-Tech Ecocity will be bordered by the Qianshan River in the east, Zhuhai Bridge in the west, Hengqin New Area in the south, and Zhongshan in the north.

It is to have construction area of more than 22 million sqm (8.49 sq miles), industrial space exceeding 7.4 million sqm (2.86 sq miles), and population of more than 660,000 by 2025. Highlighted is a blend of modern urban style and natural landscape, improved services, and prospering real economy.

Riverside landscape belts will provide leisure activities in the ecocity. The 1.5-km (almost a mile) shoreline west of the Nanping Bridge has already been beautified as a leisure greenbelt.

Moreover, parks and multifunctional coastal corridors will be developed for wetland sightseeing, waterborne leisure activities, and sports. Two mountainous parks and leisure corridors near Jishan, Guading, and Jiangjun Mts are proposed for the long run.

A sport-themed park, teenage-children activity facility, and neighborhood center will be constructed near the Nanping Bridge. An additional 14 neighborhood centers and two industrial park service centers will be built in the Baishatou area, while construction of 1,000 talent apartments will commence this year. 

Additionally, the ecocity proposal is for 19 new public kindergartens, eight primary schools, and four junior high schools. In addition to the new campuses of Zhuhai Women's & Children's Hospital and Zhuhai Center for Chronic Disease Control, a local hospital will be expanded, and 44 roads built or renovated in three years.

A modern urban architecture belt will take form along Zhuhai Avenue. The north side will be for high-rise buildings housing high-end manufacturing, while the south is zoned for residences and businesses.

Second Pingdong Road will connect the clusters for manufacturing, industrial service, quality residences, comprehensive business, and living services, fostering an innovative city-industry area.

Currently, 76 industrial projects are moving ahead and the Zhengfang Entrepreneurship Harbor incubator is under construction. An industrial system will take form with intelligent manufacturing equipment, "smart" homes, and printing and additive manufacturing as pillars with innovative information technology and modern service industry in support.
