Zhuhai entrepreneurs Dong Fan of Jafron Biomedical, the family of Liang Yunchao at By-Health, and Dong Mingzhu at Gree Electric Appliances are on the Hurun Global Rich List 2021, which was released March 2.

Dong Fan, chairman of Jafron Biomedical, is placed 560th worldwide with a wealth of 35 billion yuan ($5.42 billion), an increase of 116 percent, according to the Hurun Research Institute.

Located in the National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan), Jafron Biomedical engages primarily in the R&D, production, and sales of hemoperfusion products. Jafron listed on the second board market of Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2016, and recorded a closing share price of 76.48 yuan ($11.83) on March 2.

The family of By-Health President Liang Yunchao ranks 1,040th on the list as their wealth increased by 39 percent to 20.5 billion yuan ($3.17 billion).

By-Health in Jinwan District specializes in the R&D, production, and sale of dietary supplements. It listed on the second board market of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2010 and had a closing share price of 22.82 yuan ($3.53) on March 2.

Dong Mingzhu, chairwoman of Gree Electric Appliances, placed 3,050th with assets of 6.5 billion yuan ($1 million). Headquartered in Qianshan, Xiangzhou District, Gree is a science and technology-oriented industry that has diversified businesses covering air-conditioners, household appliances, and high-end and telecommunications equipment.

Two-time entry into the Fortune Global 500 list, Gree listed on the main board of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 1996 and its March 2 closing share price was 60.66 yuan ($9.39).

In addition to the Zhuhai entrepreneurs, Lei Jun, chairman of Kingsoft and Beijing-headquartered Xiaomi Technology, made the top 50 at 204 billion yuan ($31.56 billion), while Qiu Bojun, non-executive director of Kingsoft, ranks 3,050th with 6.5 billion yuan.

Founded in Zhuhai in 1988, Kingsoft was one of the earliest internet software enterprises in China. It has four subsidiaries including Kingsoft Office and Tangjiawan-based Seasun.

This year's Hurun Global Rich List comprises 3,228 billionaires from 2,402 companies in 68 countries. In all, 1,058 Chinese billionaires are listed with a combined fortune of 29 trillion yuan ($4.49 trillion), a rise of 73 percent from last year.
