North tip of Sea & Sky Park given distinct Lingnan style
Sea & Sky (Haitian) Park will have 12,000 sqm (3 acres) of Lingnan-styled (Cantonese) architecture and business facilities fully in place by June, according to Xiangzhou Zhengfang Holdings.
The Lingnan garden is half finished in the northern end of the park at the East Meihua Road-Central Lovers Avenue intersection in Old Xiangzhou. Being built are a moon gate, teahouse, pavilions, corridors, and lake-circling and inner lake landscape belts. These connect with other parts of the park via boardwalks. Chinese-styled lighting will enhance the atmosphere, while vegetation will vary with the seasons.
Restaurants, beverage stores, cafes, bars, and toy shops will boost the park's night economy with catering, shopping, and tourism services. Plans show them near the parking lot and Zhuhai Museum & Planning Exhibition Hall.
Adjoining the Zhuhai Museum & Planning Exhibition Hall and facing Fenghuang Bay, Sea & Sky Park has open lawns, a transparent botanical garden, waterfalls, ancient trees, and upcoming Xiangshan Cloud Walkways with mountain and sea views. The initial upgrades opened to the public on May 1 last year while the second phase development commenced Sept 28.
