Zhuhai accorded high status in education services field
In an index topped by Beijing and Shanghai, Zhuhai places 9th among China's top 10 cities in the 2020 Educational Service Industry Development Report released Dec 19 at the Beijing Normal University (BNU) in Tangjiawan.
The Chinese cities were named at the BNU Innovative Development Summit concerning their urban environment, innovation capability, and allocation of resources. The report states that Zhuhai has the key factors and environment to develop the educational service industry, which encompasses schools, colleges, universities, and centers that provide instruction and training on a wide variety of subjects.

The report says that the field has broad prospects despite small industrial scale at the moment. It goes on to clarify the concept, status, and characteristics of the sector in terms of development, policy analysis, and corporate social responsibility.
Policies, laws and regulations, leading enterprises, and industrial ecology are suggested. For instance, the report proposes a locally tailored educational service industry ecosystem with supportive policies as soon as possible.
In addition, the report encourages cities to set up aggregated zones for the educational service industry, attract high-end youth talents, cultivate human capital-intensive industrial clusters, and foster a social atmosphere that supports educational advances.
The other top cities listed are Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Chongqing, Xi'an, and Wuhan. BNU and the Capital Institute of Science & Technology Development Strategy, among others, compiled the study.
