Transformation of Xiangzhou N Industrial Zone begins
Demolitions have begun as the Xiangzhou North Industrial Zone is being be transformed into an urban complex of high-end manufacturing, business, residences, and public space.
The Xiangzhou Grain Depot and annex building began falling Nov 10 on Xingye Road adjacent to the UT Place high-end urban commercial complex, which opened in October. A multifunctional administrative office building will replace it.

Encased by Yanhe, Xingye, Yinhua, and East Meihua roads in the northern core area of Old Xiangzhou, the Xiangzhou North Industrial Zone was closed due to outdated business modes with low output value. The depot and annex building had operated from 1992 until August.
Covering 450,000 sqm (111 acres), the industry-city integration will better utilize the site under unified planning and improved functional layout. Floorage is expected to reach 1.79 million sqm (442 acres).
A Leadership Group Office for the Renovation & Transformation of the Xiangzhou North Industrial Zone was established in January and the preliminary work was entrusted to Xiangzhou Zhengfang Holdings -- a local State-owned enterprise.
