Cargo fleet of Zhuhai Port swells with latest cargo ship
Zhuhai Port's newest bulk cargo ship, the Gao Lan 309, arrived at Ganyu Port in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province on Oct 20 for a maiden voyage transporting coal to Bayuquan District in Yingkou of Liaoning Province.
Fujian Southeast Shipyard delivered the vessel to Zhuhai Port Chenggong Shipping, a subsidiary of Zhuhai Port Holdings Group, on Oct 16. At 22,500-dwt, it is the sixth bulk cargo ship above 10,000-dwt owned by Zhuhai Port as it becomes a hub logistic center in South China.
The ship's linear structure is based on the transmission features of medium- and low-speed engines. It is equipped with an air deflector, propeller boss cap fin, and axle generator to conserve energy with low fuel consumption and emissions.
In addition, the use of remote water-level measurement, four-side drafts, and cabin alarm and monitoring system elevates the automated level while lowering difficulties and risks. The ship can economically transport steel, coal, ore, grain, and other bulk cargoes between offshore navigation areas and China's major coastal ports.
