Two Zhuhai projects cited for aiding challenged people
Zhuhai projects garnered one gold medal and one bronze Oct 14 at the finals of the 2020 "Community Entrepreneurs Cup" Public Welfare Contest for the Disabled. The Zhuhai Disabled Persons Federation earned the Excellent Organization Award.
A New-Generation Paid-for-Knowledge Intellectual Property project led by Yang Mengheng won gold award in the Self-Reliance category, while a project that helps the physically challenged find employment took the bronze under the Disabled-Aided class.

The highest-level entrepreneurship and innovation competition in the province for challenged persons, the event attracted 631 eligible projects from all 21 Guangdong prefecture-level cities as well as the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Sichuan, Guizhou, and Yunnan provinces. Eleven of the 27 Zhuhai projects reached the second round, and two made it to the finals.
The finals included 24 projects concerning intelligent barrier-free systems, innovation in scaled rural plantation and breeding, e-commerce, traditional handicrafts, accessible tourism service platforms, education, and digital marketing.
The jury rated the projects according to market prospects, business model, team structure, and financing, all of which were presented in roadshows consisting of speeches and oral defense.
The event was jointly hosted by the Human Resources & Social Security Department of Guangdong Province and Guangdong Disabled Persons Federation, as well as 11 other institutions.
