A bounty of things to enjoy is planned across Zhuhai parks, ancient villages, plantations, and recreational venues during the Oct 1-8 Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday.

Starting Oct 2, for instance, Xiangshan Lake-Sumlodol Camping Rest Station at Xiangshan Lake Park in New Xiangzhou will provide painting and football experiences, classes on "wizardly wildlife," and nighttime concerts. Parents can set up camp and admire the stars with their children.

The 4th Huitong Art Festival will open Oct 1 in Huitong Village, Tangjia Town in the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone. Scheduled are an elite discussion, artwork exhibition, and evening gala. Warren Mok, offspring of the Mok Family, originally from Huitong Village, and one of the best-known tenors in the world, will perform at the closing party Oct 3.

In addition to the renowned Luyi Ancestral Hall and Jiexia Manor in the legendary imperial Nanmen Village, visitors can admire the natural scenery and distinctive Lingnan (Cantonese) architecture at Lianjiang Village in Doumen District, 1 km (.62 miles) from the Jiangmen-Zhuhai Expressway. Greenway walks, hikes on trails, and farming can be experienced at Shili Lianjiang Agriculture Sightseeing & Experience Garden.

A riverside concert of street music by local bands is set at Huangyang River Wetland Park from 7:30 to 9 pm Oct 1-3. The first large wetland park in Doumen District is suitable for ecological sightseeing, science popularization, fitness, and photo taking.

Moreover, fruits can be picked at Taiwan Farmers Venture Park in Jinwan District and Doumen's Qianwu Qingquan Dragon Fruit Plantation. Surrounded by mountains, the plantation is near the Qianwu Reservoir. The fruit is considered nutritional, sweet, refreshing, and safe due to a large temperature difference between day and night and an organic cultivation method.

The plantation's dragon fruit has ripened, while high-quality pineapples, vegetables, and chickens are also ready for consumption.

Families with children can watch a drum set performance while taking part in a fantasy bubble show, lantern riddle guessing, moon cake DIY, and other fun activities at Sumlodol Hengqin Camping Town in Hengqin New Area.
