Myriad National Day activities -- kite-flying, camping, coastal scenery tours, theme park visits, experiencing historic sites, traveling Southern Old Post Roads, or viewing the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge – are in store in Xiangzhou District.  

The 6th Guangdong Kite Championship will attract 210 contestants from across the province to display their skills at Xianglu Bay & Beach off Central Lovers Avenue in Old Xiangzhou from Oct 2 to 4. The competition is sponsored by the Xiangzhou District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism & Sports Bureau and Kite Association under the auspices of the Guangdong All Sports Federation, Guangdong Social Sports Center, Guangdong Kite Association, and Zhuhai All Sports Federation.

Also along the shore, the 2nd Xiangzhou Beach Tent Cultural Festival of the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism & Sports Bureau will be held from 3 pm Oct 3 to 8 am Oct 4. Each of three camping areas will accommodate 100 tents. Zhuhai performers will be invited to give rock 'n' roll, ballad, and pop musical performances on the central stage.

Visitors can take in romantic coastal scenery at Sea & Sky (Haitian) Rest Station, Zhuhai Opera House, Yeli Island, and Love Post Office. New Yuanming Palace, and Xiangshan Lake and Haibin parks are also good outing choices.

History enthusiasts are welcome to tour Yang Great Ancestral Hall, Yung Wing Museum, Su Manshu's Former Residence, Yuan Garden, and Former Residence of Chen Fang (Chun Afong, a merchant and first Chinese consul in Hawaii). Those interested in Southern Old Post Roads should traverse Putuo Temple and Changnanjing Old Path.

The cross-sea bridge to Hong Kong can be viewed up close via cruise tours from Jiuzhou Port Ferry Terminal, helicopter tour from Jiuzhou Helipad, or field trip to Zhuhai Port.
