Tea connoisseurs given expo in Zhuhai this weekend

A wide variety of tea products will be showcased by hundreds of exhibitors from across the country during Tea Expo Zhuhai 2020 from 10 am to 6 pm this Thursday to Saturday and 10 am to 3 pm Sept 13.

The exhibition area at the International Convention & Exhibition Center in Shizimen covers 15,000 sq m (4 acres). It will hold displays of old and new Pu-erh, Liu Pao, Dark, Black, Dancong, Green, White, Green Mandarin Orange Ripe Pu-erh, and Dried Tangerine Peel teas. Also shown will be boutique tea sets of dark-red enameled pottery, silver, iron, Jingde Porcelain, and Jianshui Purple Pottery. Tea costumes, packages, food, and decorations will be available.

An awards ceremony of the Guangdong "Wenshan Cup" Tea Arts Specialist Professional Skills Competition will be held Sept 10. Winners will stage performances and have exchanges with other tea connoisseurs.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area session of "Media View on Chinese Tea" will discuss how the domestic tea industry and culture can look forward to healthy development.

Entries in the 6th "Four Elegant Penchants of Gentlemen" (incense burning, tea tasting, flower arrangement, and painting appreciation) Tea Space Design Competition will be exhibited in Hall 3 and the winners will be announced Sept 11. Event juror Yang Yan, chief designer of Guangzhou Superb Wenheyou, will share the story of how the nostalgic complex that captures the old city of Guangzhou was born.

As precautions against COVID-19, any visitor must make an appointment at WeChat account teaexpo-cn, present ID documents, health QR codes, and travel history, be subject to facial recognition and real-time information verification, and wear a mask.
