Zhuhai-made light sport aircraft takes off in Hubei
The AG50 light sport aircraft independently developed by the Zhuhai base of China Aviation Industry General Aircraft completed its maiden flight Aug 26 at Jingmen Zhanghe Airport in Hubei Province.
The cost-efficient aircraft "Lingyan" excels in safety and comfort, and is customized for aero clubs, general aviation companies, flight schools, and private owners. It has a maximum take-off weight of 650 kg (effective load: 245 kg), flying range of 650 km (404 miles), and speed of 222 kmph (138 mph).
The maiden flight marked another breakthrough in domestically made aircraft after the success of the world's largest amphibious aircraft – the AG600.
Beijing Silk Road General Aviation, Tianjin Jinjin General Aviation, Hubei Tongcheng General Aviation, and Ningbo Zhongye Huawei Aviation Scientific & Technological Development have already signed purchase contracts.
