A new air route opened Aug 11 between Zhuhai and Anshun City in Guizhou Province with flights every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, bringing visitors to two hours by air and one by road to Huangguoshu Waterfalls.

Jiangxi Air Flight RY8987 departs Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport at 6:30 pm and arrives at Anshun Huangguoshu Airport at 8:30 pm. The return leaves at 9:20 pm and lands at 11:15 pm.

Located in mid-west Guizhou, Anshun is 90 km (56 miles) from capital city Guiyang. Not too hot in summer or too cold in winter, the average temperature is 14 to 16 Celsius.

The 5A Huangguoshu Scenic Area in Anshun's Zhenning Buyi & Miao Autonomous County is about an hour by car from the city center or the airport. It has 18 waterfalls, the largest cluster group of its kind in the Guinness World Records. The main waterfall, 77.8 m (85 yd) high and 101 m (110 yd) broad, can be seen from any direction including the caves.

Visitors can also learn about Buyi ethnic culture at Waizhai Village, tour tunpu (military fortresses) of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) in Yunshantun Village, admire lotus blooms at Shili Helang, and relax at Shizi Mt and Jiulong Mt Forest parks.

Local specialties available are: Anshun Roll Wrap, Crystal Ice Jelly, Jiuzhou Spicy Chicken, Bean Jelly in Small Pots, and Cold Rice Tofu.
