The southern campus of the Zhuhai Women's & Children's Hospital began providing advanced medical services and convenient transport operation July 29 while the original campus on Ningxi Road of Old Xiangzhou provides healthcare.

The 12-story 5G-enabled facility at 3366 Nanqin Road, Guangsheng Village, Nanping Town, Xiangzhou District has 124,700 sq m (31 acres) of floorage. It was built to Grade-3 Class-A standards and cost 1.39 billion yuan ($199 million).

The first, second, and fourth floors hold the Emergency and Outpatient departments, medical laboratory, and daycare units. Third floor houses intensive care units (ICUs), delivery rooms, and the Operations Department. Obstetrics, Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Breast Surgery departments are on the fifth to tenth floors.

At hand are 800 patient beds. Already, 70 have been put into use for obstetrics, 30 for newborns, 10 in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), 39 in the Pediatric Respiratory Department, 10 at pediatric intensive care units (PICUs), and 60 in the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Center.

Expectant mothers can choose among free position, water, and family labor rooms for delivery and prepare for spontaneous labor at Experience & Training halls. There also is the Yoga Hall at the Perinatal Health Center.

In addition, the Obstetrics Department has baby-care rooms, diaper-change stands, refrigerators, and ovens, while the waiting area of the Pediatrics Department has screens on which children watch cartoons.

To reduce waiting times the new registration system sequences patients only after arrival. Those with appointments queue in accord with the appointed time after arrival.

The hospital has 12 robots to deliver drugs and apparatus of up to 300 kg to nurse stations and operating rooms. The bots rely on facial recognition, obstacle avoidance, and ability to open doors and take elevators.

There also are pneumatic tubes for test reports and samples, as well as automatic dispensary machines.

Moreover, there are seven bus routes to the new location, and electromobiles will pick patients up for free at the nearby Shuangshi and South Shuangshi bus stops (双石/双石南站). Motorists use 640 underground and 310 aboveground parking spots. Patients commute between the original and new campuses via free coaches.
