Jiuzhou Island
Jiuzhou Island
Jiuzhou Island, merely 2 km (1.2 miles) and 10 minutes by ferry from Jiuzhou Port Ferry Terminal in Jida, is a provincial tourist destination comprising nine islets, lush vegetation, natural surreal boulders and caves, and a variety of recreational facilities.
As one of 15 bathing spots in Guangdong Province, the .2-sq-km (49-acre) main island has two fine white beaches on the east side.
A navigation tower for Macao International Airport is situated atop the northern peak from which there are unobstructed views of downtown Zhuhai, the Macao Peninsula, and Taipa and Coloane islands of Macao. Moreover, Wang'ao (Macao-view) Pavilion affords an ideal view of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge only 800 m (875 yd) away.
Leisure and recreational activities include hiking and cycling along island-circling trails, fishing, canoeing, surfing, and barbecues. Visitors can also camp overnight.
