Outdoor visitor volume at scenic sites is capped at 30 percent of maximum, and their indoor venues remain shuttered, according to Liu Tie, deputy director of the Zhuhai Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism & Sports Bureau.

Liu also recommended four natural scenery and healthcare-oriented Premium Tour Routes for Countryside Tourism promoted by the Department of Culture & Tourism of Guangdong Province since last September.

Huang Yun, deputy director of the Zhuhai Health Bureau, suggested that seniors, patients with chronic diseases, and pregnant women not to travel during the holiday.

Tourists should avoid high-risk epidemic areas, popular scenic spots, and recreational activities in enclosed spaces and at peak times. Regions with no recent reports of confirmed cases are cited as preferable.

Travelers are advised to learn about local epidemic control policies in advance and pay attention to personal protection throughout their trip: wear masks, clean hands frequently, keep a safe distance apart in queues, cover coughs with a tissue or flexed elbow, and maintain good air circulation in hotels or B&Bs.

Moreover, dining time at restaurants should be shortened, whereas take-out or eating in private rooms is encouraged. Visitors should seek medical attention at nearby medical institutions if suspicious of fever, dry cough, or fatigue occur.
