City invests millions in vouchers to drive consumption
Vouchers totaling 100 million yuan ($14 million) are being issued by the city through May 31 to stimulate consumption in the retail, catering, sports and fitness industries, as well as in cultural and tourism sectors all hard hit by the COVID-19 outbreak.
The consumption stimulation plan was approved at an executive meeting of the Zhuhai Municipal People's Government on April 17.

Locals and visitors can register their information on the Zui Zhuhai (最珠海) app and its Wechat account gh_974e2fd1b05d, as well as on Guanhai (观海), Alipay, and China UnionPay apps for a lucky draw or obtain the coupons when their offline consumptions reach a certain amount.
The vouchers, with a value of 50 yuan ($7), 100 yuan ($14), and 200 yuan ($28), will be released in batches and be valid for 14 days. They can be used to make offline payments at Zhuhai-registered household appliance sales outlets, bookstores, restaurants, scenic spots, hotels, beauty salons, and barbershops with WeChat Pay, Alipay, and UnionPay services, as long as the actual expense of a single purchase meets the threshold. Online food take-out payments are not included.
