Powerlong starts building urban complex in Jinwan
Ground was broken on March 1 for Jinwan Powerlong City in the new urban center of Zhuhai's West Wing that will integrate residences, businesses, hotels, and office areas to serve approximately 250,000 people within a 5-km (3-mile) radius.
Covering 193,900 sq m (48 acres), the project is located east of Shuanghu Road, south of Jinming Avenue, and west of the proposed Shunda Road just west of Jinwan Aviation New Town. Of the 431,900-sq-m (107-acres) in gross floor area, 246,800 sq m (61 acres) will be used for living space, 101,500 sq m (25 acres) for businesses, 24,700 sq m (6 acres) for hotels, and 58,900 sq m (14.5 acres) for offices.
Jinwan District has a stereo transport network of airport, port, railway, intercity MRT, and expressways. In addition to traditional industries, it is also committed to the aviation, biomedicine, and new-energy fields. The project will help the district become a highland of the modern service sector with a headquarters economy, high-end business, culture, entertainment, scientific research, and education facilities.

According to an agreement with the Zhuhai government, Macao Powerlong Group is to target the city as a significant market and investment destination. For instance, it will spend 20 billion yuan ($2.9 billion) on a provincial first-class art museum, world-class shopping center in Hengqin, four commercial complexes, and four five-star hotels through 2021.
To start with, construction of Powerlong Plaza, an 83,694-sq-m (21-acre) commercial complex, was contracted at the Technological Innovation Coast of the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan) in December.
