Zhuhai Airshow Center support facilities are rising by day and by night to be ready for November's 13th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, while work on Xingye Express Road has partially resumed.

For Airshow China, three exhibition halls, a dynamic demonstration zone, and taxiway are being built in a 290,000-sq-m (72-acre) area west of Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport on East Jinhai Road. Work on the first phase resumed Feb 13 and 80 percent of the structure has been completed.

By the end of this month, around 300 workers will be on site to catch up with the schedule. Chartered buses were used to pick up migrant workers and subsidies were granted to those arriving by plane.

As precautions, each worker has a file for health monitoring, and 26 rooms are earmarked for medical observation. Temperatures are taken at the entrances to construction sites and office areas.

In the 2018 exhibition, sales of 240 aircraft, worth more than $21.2 billion, were recorded and 770 exhibitors from 43 countries and regions attended the country's largest gathering of aircraft makers and buyers. This year's show takes place Nov 10-15.

At Yinhua-Xingye road intersection in New Xiangzhou, work was restarted on Segment II of the Xingye Express Road's south section. The first 20 workers went back to clean sludge and evacuate, while keeping a safe distance from each other. Chartered buses shuttle employees, and their dormitories are also disinfected.

Contingents of workers will return by March 1 and 10. Hu Shengbai, deputy manager, stated that 23 percent of the general task will be completed this year through optimized construction, additional labor, financial resources, and equipment.

Moreover, the north and south sections and Yingbin feeder will come back under construction on Feb 26 and March 1.

Spanning 30 km (19 miles), Xingye Express Road runs from Tangle and Hagongda roads in Tangjiawan to the Fenghuang Mt Tunnel via a Y-shaped structure. It passes by Dajingshan Community Park, beneath Meihua and Xingye roads, and across the Shijing Mt Tunnel.

Finally, the road will cross Bailian Road via an overpass and terminate at the Bureau of Land & Resources in Jida. It is designed to facilitate north-south downtown traffic and improve access to both the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Travel time from Tangjiawan to Jida will be cut to 10 minutes when it opens to traffic in 2022.
