How and where to seek medical treatment in Zhuhai
A guide has been released by the Zhuhai Health Bureau for those who seek medical treatment during the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak.
The content is based on current knowledge of 2019-nCoV and may be updated with further information on prevention and control.
1. Patients, except those with severe acute diseases, should avoid going to the hospital. Non-emergency medical examinations should be postponed.
2. If necessary, contact a nearby fever clinic and make an appointment and thereby shorten any stay at a hospital.
3. On the way to or in the hospital, patients and accompanying family members should wear surgical or N95 masks and keep at least 1 m away from others.
4. Avoid taking public transport to the hospital.
5. Keep hands clean and carry an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
6. Observe diagnosis and treatment procedures and follow the instructions of medical staff.
7. Avoid touching mouth, eyes, and nose with hands; cover the mouth and nose with a tissue when sneezing or coughing.
8. Use disinfectant to clean hands after touching a door handle, curtain, doctor's medical gown, and other items in the hospital. Do not touch the mouth, nose, or eyes without using hand disinfection.
9. Change clothes and cleanse hands upon returning home. Remove and clean clothes as soon as possible.
10. Seek medical attention if suspicious symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, chest distress, dyspnea, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, conjunctivitis, or muscular soreness occur and tell doctors of all activities engaged in over the previous two weeks.
