The Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Tangjiawan has earmarked an area off North Lovers Avenue where detonations of fireworks and firecrackers will be allowed from 8 pm to 1 am on the night of Friday, Jan 24, and 7 pm to midnight Jan 25-27 and on Feb 8.

The coastal site is located on Tangjia Bay across from the Zhongshan University campus between Gangwan Avenue-Jishan Road in the south and Kingsoft Software Park in the north (情侣北路港湾大道鸡山路口至金山软件园沿海路段). Last year, the otherwise serene park-like landscape had been prepared for 10,000 people and 2,000 vehicles.

To observe Zhuhai City's fireworks displays, take Buses 3A, 3, 7, 10A, 10, 68, 69, 826-5, B20, or K2 to Jishan (鸡山站) and walk east across North Lovers Avenue to the designated area. Or take Buses 66, 85, or Z76 to Baibu Road intersection (白埔路口) and walk 800 m (875 yd) southeast. The designated area will have portable toilets and stands selling firecrackers and fireworks.

Motorists can follow the instructions of the police to get to parking lots.

Only small and medium firecrackers and fireworks labeled C and D can be set off. Professional and large fireworks labeled A and B are prohibited, as are Kongming lanterns.

It is forbidden anywhere and at any time in the Hi-Tech Zone to sell, stock, and set off fireworks and firecrackers except within the approved area and periods. Fireworks and firecrackers are otherwise forbidden throughout Xiangzhou District.
