Holiday flights slated from Zhuhai to Hainan's Bo'ao
China Southern Airlines will open a direct route from Zhuhai to Qionghai (Bo'ao) Airport in Zhongyuan Town of Qionghai City, Hainan Province, encompassing the Chinese New Year Festival period from Jan 17 to Feb 8.
The flights will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays and tickets sales have already begun. Flight CZ5533 from Zhuhai to Bo'ao takes off at 9 pm and return-trip CZ5534 departs at 11 pm. The trip takes about one hour and 15 minutes.
At present, Zhuhai is not linked directly by air with Bo'ao Airport and passengers need to make stopovers at other cities.
Located about a half-hour drive from the airport and where the Wanquan River meets the South China Sea, Bo'ao has undulating mountains and lush vegetation. "Town of Overseas Chinese" and "Paradise Town," it is also the permanent venue of the Bo'ao Forum for Asia Annual Conference and is 105 km (65 miles) from Hainan's capital of Haikou and 180 km (112 miles) from Sanya.
