Ten companies will represent Guangdong Province in the national finals of the 8th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition. 

They are among 30 from Zhuhai to receive awards on Oct 21. The results were announced at a sub-forum of the Macao-Zhuhai Entrepreneur Summit 2019 -- Youth Innovation Dialogue. 

Satellite (Zhuhai) Aerospace Technology and Iview Therapeutics were among the standouts after passing preliminary, intermediary, and city finals.

The event attracted 262 local companies -- from the electronics information, advanced manufacturing, biomedicine, internet, new material, new-energy and energy conservation, and environmental protection sectors -- up nearly 40 percent from the previous year.

The event has drawn a great deal of high-end talents from world-renowned universities, including Britain's Cambridge University, the University of Macau, and Chinese University of Hong Kong, which have been sufficiently attracted to start-up businesses in Zhuhai.

The average age of core team members this year is 39. A total of 553 technical staff hold master's degrees and 171 have doctoral degrees.

The competition was hosted by the Zhuhai Science & Technology Innovation Bureau.
