Bridge along Doumen-Jinwan border ready by 2020
The Jitimen Grand Bridge connecting Doumen District's 2nd Shuijun Road with Jinwan District's extended Shuanghu Road is three-quarters finished and expected to carry traffic next year.
Construction of Piers 12 and 13 north and south of the main span is well underway. Concrete pours of three sections for 12 and the fifth section of 13 have culminated, said Qi Wenxin of the construction company. The cable-stayed bridge with a central cable section is designed with two main towers 32.9 m high. Qi said construction plans had been optimized and the bridge is three to five months ahead of schedule.

The 1,210-m (1,323 yd) Jitimen Grand Bridge will cost 330 million yuan ($47 million) and have a designed speed of 60 kmph (47 mph). Since construction started on Aug 1, 2017, various difficulties have been overcome, including the devastating effects of typhoons and heavy rains. Measures had to be taken to ensure safety and quality, as well as to speed up the project.
The Jitimen Grand Bridge northwest of Jinwan's Hongqi Town is expected to ease transportation pressure in both districts, which it borders. It is to have a significant role in boosting economic, social, and cultural connections in Zhuhai's West Wing.
